Housing Counselors play a prominent role assisting consumers in becoming successful renters by helping clients recognize their rights and responsibilities. The knowledge required to educate potential renters includes reviewing credit, sensible budgeting, and an understanding of lease requirements. Tenants have responsibilities after they move into an apartment as well, such as making the rental payment and doing no harm to the property. Also, there are still many consumers faced with financial issues that prevent them from making their rent payments on time. Delinquency on these payments could lead to rental eviction. You can help your clients create an action plan in case this happens.
